IN RESPONSE TO THE RECENT POSTING OF KAT WILLIAMS. His first mistake was performing in Phoenix, Arizona in the first place. Williams is apparently not aware to the Sound Strike that arose after the passage of anti-immigrant legislation in the state. Our concern is that he may not be in a circle of folks who keep him politically/socially aware of things. So with this Mr. Williams, BRWN BFLO is not only going to check your a** but we are also extending an invitation to educate you anytime you are concerned or questioning raza politics.

It is absolutely obvious that Mr.Williams is not clear about what all happened in Mexico's past? That the person involved in selling the land was certainly not in representation for the people, nor was he even Mexican but rather some Spaniard making business with his own People. And should it have been a Mexican, was most likely tortured like the great Aztec Emperor Moctezuma and Cuauhtemoc who had their feet burned and were torchured after refusing to give up their treasures to the conquistadores. Or like our native ancestors, who watched their children get killed and wives rapped in front of them for not cooperating. Army’s like that of Pancho Villa fought back in the North, and Army's like that of Emiliano Zapata fought in the South.

Our question to Mr. Williams is " are you truly intergrated and accepted into USA? Is USA truly integrated into you and your people? are you an individual or a represention of other blacks or that of people of color? Is it Obama that makes you feel a deeper investement to chanting U.S.A? What about USA are you intrigued about? Hmmmm, maybe a white racist paid you thousands to not only perform in THE MOST ANTI-MEXICAN state, but gave you extra cash to go in harder against Mexicans?"

Bottom line is this, black and brown folks got to stick together. We don’t need more coconuts and oreo’s. no more puppets for the money or the white man. and certainly, no more hate against eachother, we need unity.

So, What do we do next? Do we Sound Strike him? Do we take this and learn from it? At what point do we hold each other accountable or not? One thing for sure is that He clearly made an informed historical perspectives and should be accountable for it because to us, it was clearly not a quick racial joke but rather a long 7 minutes of racist remarks fueled with anger.

It's time to base our actions and words on our unified histories, our real interests as working people, and not fall into the traps of blaming one another due to race or other nonsensical reasons. Any energy spent by Africans Americans against Mexicans--or Mexicans against African Americans, since this is equally wrong--

I remember back in 2005, Dec 13th. I went to the protest of Tookie after reading his book "Life in Prison". I went with a few friend's and we talked about who really had power. In this case, the system clearly had power and they gave a s*** if Tookie wrote books, was an example of transformation, etc... The system injected lethal injection and killed Tookie. They killed someone who i looked up to that it is never to late for a positive change. Would have made a more positive difference in the lives of millions in this world had they just kept him alive at least or better yet freed him. But in all reality, our system doesn't want those from the neighborhood to work within the neighborhood as case managers, counselors, teachers, etc... They call us threats, and instead, want to create gang injunctions and kick us out.

OAKLAND -- Forty people accused by the city attorney of being dangerous gang members will have to pay almost $1,000 in court fees simply to show up and defend themselves and are not legally entitled to a public defender, an attorney fighting a proposed gang injunction said Thursday.
Oakland City Attorney John Russo announced the injunction request in October, naming 42 people he said were members of the Norteno street gang police say is responsible for half the criminal violence in the area.
Because the injunction is a civil complaint rather than a criminal charge, laws providing defendants with free-of-charge, court-appointed attorneys don't kick in and the defendants are fending for themselves, said civil rights attorney Michael Siegel, who is fighting the injunction.
Siegel said he planned to ask a judge to both waive the defendants' filing fees and ask the state to provide attorneys for all the defendants. Thursday's hearing was delayed until next week but still drew about 40 people outside the Alameda County administration building.
"This is a quasi-criminal case," Siegel said, arguing that because anyone caught violating the injunction could face six months in jail, those people deserve the same legal protection as a criminal defendant. Further, while fee waivers are available, Siegel said the income thresholds tend to be very low, and many defendants are living with their parents in households that won't qualify for a waiver

but don't have any extra income, either.
Russo said in October that he'd be filing his evidence in a week; however, an effort to further flesh out the evidence delayed the process, and a Dec. 17 court date is likely to be postponed, attorneys both for and against the injunction said. The possibility of judicial approval is unlikely until at least January.
Two defendants named in the injunction have been dropped from the list after contacting Russo's office and convincing attorneys they had been mistakenly lumped in with the others, city attorney spokesman Alex Katz said. The rest, Katz said, have clearly shown themselves to be gang members, either by claiming membership themselves or by consistent criminal behavior in concert with gang activities.
Russo has said several times that he agrees with anti-injunction activists that the action is not a cure-all solution and that social services, including after-school programs and drug rehabilitation, are sorely needed in one of the city's most violent neighborhoods if real progress is to be made.
If Russo is able to show "clear and convincing" evidence in civil court that each of the remaining 40 defendants is a member of the gang, they would be disallowed to associate with each other during certain times within a safety zone bordered by 21st Avenue and High Street south of Brookdale Avenue. They would be disallowed to carry large ink markers commonly connected to gang graffiti and several other criminal behaviors.
As attorneys debated several issues in recent weeks, a legal wrinkle presented itself: Siegel's firm, Siegel & Yee, which is representing at least one defendant and has counseled several more, also employs Oakland City Council President Jane Brunner, which Russo's office argues is a conflict of interest.
"The law is pretty clear: it represents a conflict for her and for the firm," Katz said. "The council controls our budget, for one. There's a lot of potential for conflict there. She owes a duty to the city and she owes a duty to her firm as an attorney."
Siegel said Brunner has been totally uninvolved in the firm's work against the injunction, a result of "an internal firewall in the office" the firm put up to address what he acknowledged could be perceived as a conflict of interest.
The case will return to county court at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at which time Siegel said he will plan to make his requests. The injunction will not face the question of approval until a later hearing.

The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act (The "DREAM Act") is a piece of proposed federal legislation in the United States that was first introduced in the United States Senate on August 1, 2001[1] and most recently re-introduced there and the United States House of Representatives on March 26, 2009. This bill would provide certain inadmissible or deportable alien students who graduate from US high schools, who are of good moral character, arrived in the U.S. as minors, and have been in the country continuously for at least five years prior to the bill's enactment, the opportunity to earn conditional permanent residency if they complete two years in the military or two years at a four year institution of higher learning. The alien students would obtain temporary residency for a six year period. Within the six year period, a qualified student must have "acquired a degree from an institution of higher education in the United States or [have] completed at least 2 years, in good standing, in a program for a bachelor's degree or higher degree in the United States," or have "served in the uniformed services for at least 2 years and, if discharged, [have] received an honorable discharge."[2] Military enlistment contracts require an eight year commitment, with active duty commitments typically between four and six years.[3][4] "Any alien whose permanent resident status is terminated [according to the terms of the Act] shall return to the immigration status the alien had immediately prior to receiving conditional permanent resident status under this Act." [5]

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A 78-year-old South Carolina man with more than a dozen weapons in his home has been arrested after federal authorities say he told a nurse he was thinking about killing President Barack Obama.
Michael Stephen Bowden was being held Friday at the Spartanburg County jail. Bowden was arrested recently after he told a nurse at a Veterans Affairs clinic in Spartanburg he was thinking of killing the president, according to a sworn statement by a U.S. Secret Service agent.
During a checkup at the clinic Nov. 16, a nurse asked Bowden if he ever thought about killing himself. According to the affidavit, Bowden told the nurse, "Yes, I would like to shoot the president then myself."
Bowden repeated those words to another nurse, adding that he wanted to kill Obama "because he is not doing enough to help African Americans."
Bowden, who is white, also had suicidal tendencies during a screening in April, according to the statement.
The next day, federal agents searched the home Bowden shares with his wife and adult son, finding three semiautomatic handguns and a semiautomatic rifle under Bowden's bed. Agents also found 13 other guns throughout the home, including a loaded shotgun near the front door.
When asked about his comments to the nurses, Bowden admitted he made them and also gave agents a sworn, written statement, saying "if I had the opportunity to put Obama against the wall and shoot him, I would."

U.S. Magistrate Judge Kevin McDonald ordered that Bowden be held without bond until a mental evaluation had been completed. An attorney for Bowden did not immediately respond to a message Friday.
WYFF-TV reported Bowden was in the Navy for four years and was a former New York City policeman and fire captain.

Michael Henderson and Olando Maclin were charged earlier this year with voting in the ‘08 Presidential Election before they’d completed probation – an illegal act, as the law currently stands. But Henderson and Maclin are making a historic stand for justice by arguing that that bias in the stat’s criminal justice system is essentially denying them the right to vote because of their race. Quote the Judge:

“If we entertain a claim that our judgments are infected by race, we put our integrity on the line,” wrote Circuit Judge Richard Sankovitz. “But if we dismiss a Voting Rights Act claim without first seeing whether it can be proved, is our integrity worth defending in the first place?”

One & the Same?

People seem to attribute Hip-Hop's success among the masses due to the assumed fact that Hip-Hop is black culture. It's a mistake that I can understand, since most of the faces one sees involved in Hip-Hop seem to be of African-American descent. But then again, when you watch the television, you don't see much Hip-Hop, or even rap. Only BET and MTV will play rap videos, and it's not like they've got real Hip-Hop on these two channels twenty-four- seven. So, when the casual observer walks along the "Rap/Hip-Hop/R&B" section of their local branch of Camelot, Sam Goody, or K-Mart, all they seem to see are black faces. Therefore, it's only natural for the casual observer to think that Hip-Hop is black culture.
I'm here today to challenge this myth. And that's precisely what it is: a false myth. Sure, most of the exposed rap artists and emcees out there are African-American, but what about the DJs? What about the graff writers out there? What about the b-boys and b-girls out there? What about all the people who respect the culture and follow it and love it? What about the people who contribute to Hip-Hop magazines and newsletters? What about all the people who read that damn shit? If one could count all those people, one could easily see that Hip-Hop isn't black culture. Rather, Hip-Hop is a part of black culture and Hop's universal, dammit! It's fuckin' universal because members of practically every society out there's rockin' to this shit!! I wouldn't be surprised if some X-Files case out in the cosmos is listening to some Invisible Skratch Piklz right now.
It didn't start out as black culture, either, because Hip-Hop has always been its own culture. Let me say that shit again, just in case you didn't catch that. Hip-Hop has always been its own culture. Not all of the fathers and godfathers of Hip-Hop were African-American. The original breakers were black and hispanic. The first graff writer, Taki, was Greek. Speaking of graff, Seen isn't black. I could go on and on, but it would be quite long and boring, so I'll just stop here with my point that Hip-Hop was composed of different races, different ethnic groups, different styles, and different cultures. Hip-Hop still is composed of all these things, as well as different age groups, different nationalities, and straight up different people.
So can you see why people into Hip-Hop aren't "acting black"? Can you see why people need to know the truth rather than spread the myth? African- American culture is different from Hip-Hop, although the two do have a relation. Asian-American culture is different from Hip-Hop, although the two do have a relation. Hispanic-American culture.... etc. You know what I'm trying to say. Hip-Hop is its own culture, so don't mix it with any other. Peace to all my Hip-Hop brothers and sisters. Support Hip-Hop unity.

Oakland police serve gang injunction notices, prompting Fruitvale protest

OAKLAND -- About 30 people protested near the Fruitvale BART station Thursday after police the previous night began to serve notices to people accused of being gang members after an injunction was filed by the city attorney.
At least 10 of the 41 adults named in the proposed injunction were served Wednesday night with notices to appear in court, city attorney spokesman Alex Katz said. The injunction has not been presented in civil court and the notices serve to let the defendants know they can appear to defend themselves when that happens.
City Attorney John Russo announced the planned injunction in mid-October, saying his office had worked with police to identify dozens of key members of a gang active in the Fruitvale area. Police officials say that gang is responsible for about half of the violence in the area and the injunction would, among setting other rules, forbid those proved to be gang members from associating with one another, curbing their ability to terrorize their neighborhoods.
Former gang member Salvador Sanchez, 27, said at the protest that he joined an Oakland gang when he was 11 and left when he was about 19, after years of living with violence and both abusing and selling drugs, and that street policing played no positive role in his rehabilitation.
"Batons to my face never made me want to be a better person. They made me hate the government, hate my life and hate myself," Sanchez said. "I grew up on the streets,

but it was not police that saved my life, not jails that saved my life -- it was programs I was forced to go to, and people getting active in the community and trying to help."
Not only does the injunction send the wrong message about the city's priorities, Sanchez said, but those named who are gang members will gain respect and power within the gang because of it.
"It makes (the gang) look stronger, more organized and with more members than it really is," he said. "I guarantee you, (the gang) is stronger because of the press and the city attorney. More (members) will come to Oakland to be part of this."
Many of the protesters said the injunction will give police free reign to employ racial profiling. Katz, however, said the injunction's format makes that impossible.
"The police don't have the power to add anybody to the injunction that they think is an associate. We did it this way on purpose, because profiling is a real concern," Katz said.
Several unidentified "Does" are named in the paperwork, but rather than allowing police to spontaneously apply the injunction to people on the street, it allows the attorney to return to court with new names if the office can provide "clear and convincing evidence" -- a standard of proof higher than in most civil cases, but slightly below the "beyond a reasonable doubt" standard found in criminal law.
The result, Katz said, is that no one can be named in the injunction without a judge finding evidence that proves that person is a gang member; hence, a person's simply being part of a racial minority isn't enough for the injunction to target them.
The suit originally named 42 people, but one of them attended Russo's October announcement and told officials they had it wrong, Katz said.
"He said, 'Look, I'm out of that life,' and showed us his report card," Katz said. "He got an A in one class and told us he had an employer, who confirmed and said yes, he works here. So we decided to let him out."
Attorney Dan Siegel, who is representing some of the people named in the suit, said the injunction is a mistake.
"The system has more than enough tools to prosecute and imprison criminals," Siegel said. "It takes a certain level of police work to arrest someone for a crime. What does a gang injunction add to the police arsenal that we want them to have? It's a vehicle for harassment."
Russo had announced that he would be filing evidence by the end of October, but the cases have proved complex and his attorneys are taking extra time to cover every angle, Katz said. He said the office hopes to have the injunction in place by the end of the year.
